The information technology revolution resulted in what is called the World Wide Web (the Internet), which made it possible to connect parts of the world with each other to turn it into a small village, and provided an area for interaction and communication between people, in addition to the ability to store and obtain personal information at any time and place, but the use of this technology by individuals varied between Proper and balanced use between excessive and pathological use that affected various areas of social, professional and health life.

Numerous studies and research revealed the negative effects of misuse of the Internet on the individual, including suffering, social and psychological problems, and a lack of social skills such as anxiety, depression, psychological loneliness and aggression, which made him resort to virtual reality.

As an emotional release, hence many new social phenomena such as bullying and aggression against others.
