Abstract EN

This research study aimed to evaluate the use of educational videos on YouTube for teaching parts of the physical education lesson in elementary education, as perceived by physical education teachers in Oman.

The study utilized a descriptive approach and a survey method, with a sample of 47 physical education teachers.

A questionnaire was prepared to evaluate the use of educational technology tools, specifically educational videos on YouTube, in teaching physical education at the elementary level in the second semester.

The data collected from the survey were analyzed using statistical methods such as arithmetic mean, standard deviation, simple correlation coefficient, frequencies, and percentages.

The results indicated that all physical education teachers agreed on the effectiveness of using educational technology tools to support the educational process and learning outcomes.

However, they also identified several challenges that hinder the use of YouTube videos for teaching physical education, including the lack of materials specifically prepared for physical education lessons, inadequate preparation programs for using educational technology tools, and obstacles in preparing and equipping educational technology materials for the teaching process.

Additionally, the study found that the technological dose for preparing educational teaching materials is inadequate and does not fully represent the curriculum material of the physical education subject in Oman.

Despite this, all physical education teachers agreed that there are useful technological educational materials available on YouTube, but they need to be reviewed and evaluated before being utilized in the educational process to ensure their quality and suitability for the physical education curriculum.
