Abstract EN

The aim of this study is to identify family communication styles and the social skills of sons, and to reveal the relationship between family communication styles and children's social skills.

the sample of the study consisted of 65 students from Mohammed V university in morocco, ranging in age from 18 to 22 years old.

the study tools consisted of two scales: the family communication scale, which consists of three dimensions (communication with parents, communication between father and mother, and communication with siblings), and the social skills scale, which consists of five dimensions (peer relationships, assertiveness, academic skills, self-management, and compliance).the results of the study showed that the family communication styles of university students were at a moderate level, while their social skills were at a moderate level.

the study also indicated a statistically significant relationship between family communication styles and children's social skills.

the study recommended training both parents and children on good communication skills within the family, as well as organizing workshops to train university students to develop their social skills.
