Abstract EN

This study investigates the Arabic dialect of Omani people as mentioned in the Holy Quran based on the sayings of the scholars and Quran interpreters in the validity of its attribution.

It further explains the connotations of the words of the dialect.

The research problem is represented in the following question: Was there mentioning of lexica from the dialect of Oman in the Glorious Quran? And was this in terms of synonymity or polysemy among languages? The study was divided into a preface and two chapters; the first is concerned with the dialect of the Omani people in the books of Quran interpretations, Quran sciences and language.

The second chapter deals with the connotative impact of the dialect of the Omani people on the meaning of the verses of the Quran.

The study proves that the dialect of the Omani people partakes with about thirteen words in the Glorious Quran, and that the Quran interpreters demonstrate various connotations for these words as synonymy and polysemy.

The most significant connotation refers to meanings of commitment, assumption and causality as manifested when tracing the opinions of the linguists and Quran interpreters.

The ramous connotations of the words in the Omani dialect indicate the greatness of the eloquence of the Holy Quran and its Supreme status.

This necessitates the need to study the Omani dialect when interpreting the verses in detail and to manifest those maxims and the rulings.

The research recommends that the dialects mentioned in the Quran be given more attention as dialects are one of the knowledge and tools used by interpreters.

It should not be enough to simply attribute the language to a tribe or place, but rather the interpreter should analyze, criticize and create a balance between them.
