Haran site, at Dhamar city, is considered at an important archaeological site because it contains various and multiple effects, as it includes fortified military installations among its flanks, foremost among which are fences, towers and catacombs.

there are also civilian facilities such as grain, water pool and trenches.

there are also religious traces like rock tombs.

the most notable of which was that they depended on their constructions on the technique of digging in the rocks, the burials (grain stores), and the vineyards were dug in the red rock, while the rock tombs were dug in some black basalt rocks, while others were in the red rocks.

the archaeological site of haran was distinguished from other sites in dhamar region by combining a number of military, civilian, and religious installations in one place (fences, entrances, basements, tombs, water tanks, and rock tombs), and we rarely find them combined in another site at Dhamar region.

the uniqueness of the site from other sites at dhamar region due to the multiple and varied rock tombs (individual and collective), and by its secret passages the catacombs.

due to this, it is a fortified fortress, an advanced monitoring center, and it overlooks the bottoms that surround it from every side.
