The current study aimed at the following: to identify the preferences of thinking styles among a sample of secondary students in Zaouiet Kounta; and to identify the differences in these styles according to gender; the academic class and specialization, reached 100 students from the literary and scientific specialization.

using a comparative descriptive approach and a list of thinking styles (short version); prepared by Sternberg and Wagner 1992; translation and codification by Abdelmoneim al-Darder and Issam el-Tayeb 2004.

here are the results of the study: there was a difference in the sample's preferences for thinking styles, and the external style was the most preferred.
