Abstract EN

In an attempt to reveal the Algerian linguistic and literary heritage and shed the light on the Algerian most brilliant figures I have opted to investigate the legacy of Cheikh Abderahmane Ben Omar Bakelli named Al Bekri, a famous scholar and author.

He wrote “Al Bekri Poetical works collection” (in Arabic: Dîwân Al-Bekrī) where he expressed his thoughts regarding many topics namely: motherland, nation, human and renaissance.

This research attempts to present and describe this poetical collection content; the events where the poems were firstly recited, poetic rhythmical and meters, and some examples of his poems.

The main artistic and value related characteristics of Al Bekri poetry were discussed with distinguishing his delicate sense and high literary taste.
