Abstract EN

This dictionary aims at collecting homophones in Quran.

That is in Riwayah (way of reading) (Narration) of “Hafs An Asim”; to invite researchers to meditate in the field of Ottoman writing script, its characteristics and indications.

Data of this dictionary is based on the Quran of Madinah digital publication copy.

Data is investigated according to the following steps: 1- Arranging dictionary entries according to its script, taking into consideration the following: a) Draw the word syllable according to the pronunciation.

b) Draw the single Hamza on the line.

c) Draw theconnected Hamza as Alif.

d) Put the sign (+) between the two connected words.

e) Repeat the geminated letter.

f) Use the third person masculine singular form.

g) Use Indefinite word forms.

2- The researcher collects thehomophones and compared eacnhomophone with the number of its frequency of occurrence in Quran.

3- In a table of two columns the researcher lists all the homophones.

On the top of the columns he shows homophones at pause.

The rest are organized according to letter (alphabetical) order in the dictionary, followed by a mention of the verse and its number.

The researcher concludes with 236 entries in the dictionary.

They are organized according to pronunciation.

He introduced the dictionary with a table of contents listing all entries and ended it with four appendixes that considered to enrich the dictionary and be useful for readers and researchers.
