Abstract EN

This study aimed at revealing post-divorce experiences of divorced men and women by concentrating on three issues: the reflexivity of divorce situation: its rationality, justification, and negative and positive outcomes, parental relationship, and post- divorce experience that stemming from society's stigmatization.

The study population consisted of all divorced men and women who had time to visit their children in the Family and Child Protection Association and the Jordanian Women’s Union in 2017 2018.

The sample of the study included (29) divorced women and (21) divorced men, and the data of this qualitative method study was gathered through indepth interview.

The results of the study showed that all men and women regard their divorce rational, and justified their divorce by the causes such as: matrimonial disputes, infidelity, incompatibility of spouses, and violating spouse's rights.

Furthermore, the most negative outcome of divorce for men was missing their children, and wears the most negative outcome for women was the poor financial status.

However, both of them regarded divorce as change for the best.

Then, the results showed that parental relationship have become worse for whom didn't get custody of children, and the most of divorced men and women didn't feel that society stigmatize them.
