Abstract EN

The research studies Arwa bin Alward’s poetry in accordance with the sociological approach to the creative range of the (Sulukes’ Poetry)* and in regard to Sulukism mostly as a social and artistic phenomenon.

The approach also contributes to establishing and understanding the relationship between literature and society to activate it as a means of development and advancement to human societies.

The research focuses on the social aspects within the texts by dismantling the structure phonetically, lexically, syntactically then reconstructs them to shed light on the poet's unique vision of the world.

The research focuses on Arwa bin Alward’s poetry despite the scarcity of former studies due to his social status (often called Father of the Sulukes), which goes with the research approach.

The research concludes that the pre-Islamic text is extremely capable of providing studies with a rich creative material and enlightening modern criticism schools.

Therefore, it also maintains the artistic and historical features especially bearing in mind that the pre-Islamic era is the source of Arabic poetry.

In addition, it analyzes the poet’s personality, his social position, his vision of the world, and the features of the society he aspires to despite unjust social restrictions and provisions.

The researcher finds that the sociological approach is one of the most appropriate approaches to study the pre-Islamic text and peer into its mysteries and ideologies though usually hidden within (subtext) to avoid confrontation.
