Abstract EN

Between poetry and art lies intimate relations and whose strength has increased in the modern era.

The transformation of the Arabic poem into blank verse led poets to capitalize the techniques of cinematic art and employ them in their creative output in order to modernize their poems and access the threshold of contemporary modernity.

Our realization of this transformation prompted us to seek to uncover the vanishing of the suppositional wedge between the poetic genre and the cinematic art.

This was represented in surveying and illustrating several poetic samples of a number of the early blank verse poets and their adherents; with the aim of revealing the extent of blank verse poets‟ absorption of the awareness of the new modernity that transcends form to art, and the submissive extent of their ability to employ the outputs of that modernity in their creative production.

The practical analysis of the poetic texts revealed that these poets were well-armed with a deep cinematic culture, as we perceived a strong bond between the art of cinema and poetry, which was embodied in the poetry‟s borrowing of cinema tools and techniques represented mainly in the strength of this research stance, in its structural components and the structural and semantic effect imposed by the opening scene on the overall structure of the text and its scenes.

This study implicitly suggested the significance of considering modern poetic texts from non-traditional viewpoints, as they are the product of modern awareness that absorbs the successes of contemporary culture and works to re-represent them in new creative fields and innovative images.
