There is a clear development in the position of the Algerian legislator ; since before the amendment of the nationality law, no compromise was made between the father and the mother in transferring the original nationality to the children, as the right of blood was primarily taken into account on the part of the father and was not taken into account on the part of the mother except in a narrow scope and with conditions.

however, in respect of international conventions and in response to various developments, his position changed after the amendment, equating them, as it is sufficient to prove the child's lineage to his Algerian mother so that the original nationality is automatically established for him, in accordance with the absolute right of blood on the mother's side.

however, this amendment raised several problems that must be avoided under the current nationality law.
