Abstract EN

The study aimed to clarify the role of Sudanese universities in promoting sustainable development, and also aimed to identify the use of creative leadership in Sudanese universities represented in (encouraging creativity, solving problems, decision-making, susceptibility to change and the spirit of risk) as an independent variable in promoting sustainable development measured by a number of Dimensions (Vision and Mission of the University, University sustainability, renewal of its curricula, the role of universities in society, participation of universities in global initiatives, support of universities for scientific research, compatibility of university programs with quality standards, and upgrading services provided to students) as a dependent variable.Previous studies and websites, and a questionnaire was built as primary sources for collecting research data.

The researcher used the descriptive analytical method to test the study hypotheses.

The results of the study showed the lack of application of the dimensions of creative leadership mentioned in the study, and proved that the leadership in Sudanese universities did not support the concept of sustainable development.

The study also showed a relationship between the dimension (encouraging creativity, susceptibility to change and the spirit of risk taking) and sustainable development.

It also demonstrated the lack of response to the elements of sustainable development with changes in the elements of problem solving and decision-making.

The researcher recommended making more effort to raise the level of application of creative leadership in Sudanese universities to be able to play the role entrusted to it to support sustainable development.

The study also recommended conducting more studies to test other components of creative leadership mentioned in the subject literature.
