The history of the Sabean Mandaeans is an important part of the history of ancient and modern Iraq, and the Sabian religion is one of the oldest religions, as they believe that their holy book (Kanzaria) includes the first tablets that were revealed to Prophet Adam, who is also called (the master Ra Adam), and the Mandaean religion is one of the Abrahamic religions, and historians differed about the origin of the Sabean Mandaeism and the genesis of their religion and its first sources; they are monotheists believing in the existence of Allah, The One God, and they believe in His prophets.

They also believe in the Prophet Adam, Sheet, Sam the son of Noah, Abraham, and finally Prophet Yahya the son of Zakaria (John the Baptist), who is the last of their prophets.

They resided in southern Mesopotamia for long centuries; the language spoken by the Mandaeans is the Mandaic language, which represents one of the famous Semitic languages in ancient times, and is closer to the Syriac languages than others, and the Mandaeans believe that their language is the language spoken by Adam.
