Abstract EN

The nature of political and social developments in the history of Iraq distinguished the Iraqi novel from its counterparts in the Arab world, by drawing the dimensions of the Iraqi person in the light of conflict and war, depicting his suffering, fear and resistance.

What we noticed with the novelist who began to express the most prominent phenomena present, including the sectarian conflict that emerged after the occupation of killing, displacement and psychological and social consequences on the personality of the Iraqi individual.

Studying narrative techniques in a novel (The Brothers of Muhammad) by the novelist Maysaloon Hadi, and the study included a criticism and analysis of the novel.

The study consists of two sections.

The first includes a study of the focusing technique in the novel and the three types of focalization of zero, internal and external focus.

As for the second topic, it includes a study of temporal techniques such as retrieval, anticipation, acceleration, summary, deletion and pause.

Descriptive, then we conclude the research with the most important results we have reached in our study of the subject.

We have adhered to the descriptive-analytical approach as a starting point for us to shed light on these techniques.
