Marriage is meant as one of the forms of societies that guarantee the protection of individuals and their access to stability through some laws, legislation, customs and traditions to preserve the sustainability of society.

With the difference in some of the variables that affect them.

The aim of this study was to analyze the spatial relationships of the marital status according to the gender of males and females and according to the environment, rural and urban, in Al-Diwaniyah district in terms of the variance between administrative units and the difference in this variance in the studied period (1997-2021) as a result of the transformations that were associated with the social, educational, demographic and economic characteristics of a society the study , Among the most important findings of the study is the increase in the percentage of married couples in 1997 by (78.5%) for the rural district according to the administrative units and its significant decrease in 2021 to reach 21.0%.

As for the year 2021, the percentage of urban married couples decreased in 1997 to reach (37.2%).

And an increase in its percentage in urban areas in 2020, reaching (62.8) according to administrative units
