Arabic Abstract

هدفت الدراسة إلى الكشف عن دور مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي في تنمية قيم المواطنة الرقمية لدى طلبة الجامعات الأردنية الخاصة، واستخدمت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي المسحي، وتم تطوير استبانة لهذا الغرض بعد التأكد من صدقها وثباتها، وتكونت عينة الدراسة من (502) طالبا وطالبة تم اختيارهم بالطريقة العشوائية البسيطة.

أظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن دور مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي في تنمية قيم المواطنة الرقمية لدى طلبة الجامعات الأردنية الخاصة جاء بدرجة (مرتفعة)، وتوصلت نتائج الدراسة إلى عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين متوسطات أفراد عينة الدراسة تعزى لمتغير الجنس، كما توصلت النتائج إلى وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية تعزى لمتغير الدرجة العلمية ولصالح فئة بكالوريوس، كما توصلت النتائج إلى عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية تعزى لمتغير عدد الحسابات على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي، كما توصلت النتائج إلى عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية تعزى لمتغير الكلية.

وأوصت الدراسة بإنشاء موقع تواصل اجتماعي خاص للجامعة لسهولة التواصل ما بين الطلبة والخريجين والهيئة التدريسية.

English Abstract

The current study aims to reveal the role of social media platforms in developing the values of digital citizenship among students at private Jordanian universities.

The study used the descriptive survey method, and a questionnaire was developed for this purpose after ensuring its validity and reliability.

The study sample consisted of (502) male and female students selected randomly.

Appropriate statistical methods were used to systematically analyse the data.

The study results showed that the role of social media platforms in developing the values of digital citizenship among students at private Jordanian universities came to a (high) degree.

The study results concluded that there were no statistically significant differences between the averages of the study sample due to the (gender) variable; however, there were statistically significant differences due to the academic degree variable and in favour of the bachelor’s degree students.

The results concluded no statistically significant differences due to the variable number of accounts on social media platforms.

The results concluded no statistically significant differences due to the faculty variable.

The study recommended cooperation with the Information Department (IT) to create a unique social media platform for universities to facilitate communication between students, graduates, and the faculty members.

It also recommends integrating and teaching digital citizenship as a part of computer course materials and academic curriculums.
