Although several countries followed somehow the same strategies and protocols while confronting the very contagious Covid-19 pandemic, some countries distinctively relied in dealing with this pandemic on their local popular culture that includes generations-long set of accumulated and inherited knowledge, beliefs, practices and expertise.

In this very context, this study is situated to outline the most important food, drinking and sterilization practices that are inherited from past generations and were for long trusted to be so reliable preventive and curing practices among Omanis that became more popular during the pandemic.

The study examines the patterns and significance of such practices and investigates its functions starting from a field study and following a mixed method approach.

Accordingly, the study aimed at unravelling the secret behind the persistence of Omanis in carrying out these inherited preventive practices within a globalized world changing every detail of their daily life.
