Abstract EN

This research seeks to extrapolate the manifestations of irony in the poetry of Abu Al-Raqmaq and to analyze its components and sources, with the aim of revealing its embodiment through the exaggeration of the manifestations of ugliness, triviality and absurdity, in a clear convergence with the concept of irony from the perspective of aesthetics.

In his stupidity, he imitated his behaviour, but in his poetic embodiment, he was distinguished by the predominance of his intention to promote his poetry and to earn it in a society eager to receive ridicule for catharsis and entertainment.

In his poetic formulation, the poet relied on the simplicity of building satire in a caricature style, embodying deviation and distortion in forms and actions, taking care to use vulgar images and vulgar language in a noisy brawl.

He did not hesitate to elevate sarcasm to a discourse of protest against the authorities who flooded society with the suffering of injustice and tyranny, but he did not refrain from expressing protest and rejection of the behaviour of members of society.
