Abstract EN

After about two decades of adopting a comprehensive policing philosophy (CPP) at the Public Security Directorate (PSD), this study came to measure the knowledge of the offi cars within the operational level, besides measuring the most influential challenges in CPP's implementation and to indicate the possible roles of PSD to achieve the dimensions of CPP through the analysis of the strategic frameworks regulating for the work of PSD.

to achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive analytical approach was used, and a ques tionnaire was designed and distributed to a sample of (150) individuals.

the study has concluded that CPP approach is deeply rooted in the Jordanian context, and PSD follows the commu nity-oriented police approach.

based on the results of the study, several recommendations were formulated.

the most important of which is the need to contextualize the contributions of society and its formal and informal sectors in crime prevention and control programs through the development of the community security approach, and to review the developing programs mechanisms for middle and senior leaders in the PSD to include topics related to police theories and its applications.
