Abstract EN

The research presents an analytical study of the political behavior of women in the Kurdistan Region - Iraq and the obstacles they face based on a field study that included samples from (152) women who represented political women in the Kurdistan Region in its three governorates.

The intended stratified sampling method was used, and questionnaires specially prepared for this purpose were distributed.

Percentages, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, correlation coefficient, and coefficient of variation were used to describe and analyze the information.

The study concluded that the nature of the social and cultural conditions prevailing in the region and the laws supporting women made them pay great attention to the issue of politics, which prompted them to participate in political action and contribute to decision-making.

The study showed that the main obstacle facing the political behavior of women in the Kurdistan region is the "man's control" of the leadership of political parties, associations, and civil society organizations.
