Institutional building in Iraq represented a major challenge to the political system, as the institutional structure of the previous regime had disintegrated and collapsed, which required the political system post - 2003 to work on finding constitutional institutions and bodies to establish the new political system which was represented in the constitutional institutions representing social diversity and all contributing to it.

The spectra and components of the Iraqi people are the basic core of this building.

Constitutional institutions are a cornerstone for the stability of the political system and are one of its most important pillars.

Iraq witnessed an institutional rebuilding after the year 2003 but it was not in the required form that ensures the survival of constitutional institutions capable of managing the state, as these institutions suffered from Significant problems that cast a shadow on the performance of the political system, and despite the role that United Nations played in the process of institution building in Iraq, whether through support, expertise or decisions in support of the political system and institutions, the process of institutional building requires great time and effort to reach a level that it can to fulfill the requirements of the existing political system.
