Abstract EN

This study, which is titled of intellectual property and its role in confronting plagiarism and protecting intellectual production, aimed to identify the history of the emergence and development of intellectual property; it’s most important characteristics, fields and ways of protecting it, it included the different literary eras from the pre-Islamic period until the modern Renaissance, and the study used the descriptive method, and it came up with the most important results.

That the Arab nation, since the pre-Islamic era, has been known about them as harbingers of their interest in intellectual property, and that the issue of recognizing copyright and prosecuting the infringer of the right of others in literary texts is an advanced stage of the approval of intellectual property, and that the issue of intellectual property developed after the Renaissance in Europe; it enacted laws and legislations to preserve every person’s right and protect their rights from plagiarism.

The study recommended that it is necessary for the intellectual property culture to prevail among those interested in the field of literature and art of all kinds, as well as those interested in the field of industry and modern inventions.

Because it directly affects their intellectual production, and thus that culture contributes to solving the problems that fall within their work.
