The interpretation of the followers is seen as one of the sources adopted in the interpretation of the Qur'an.

They were among those who followed the example of the Prophet and learned from his companions, God bless them.

They inspired by their knowledge and ethics, so their sources varied and their paths in interpreting the holy Qur'an differed.

They left for Muslims a rich and great scientific value, that Imam Ibn Jarir al-Tabari, may God rest his soul, included and adopted in his in terpretation entitled : 'a comprehensive statement in interpreting Qur'an's verses', has become a reference for many of the interpreters who came after him and got his knowledge.

He is a dignified imam and a famous scholar; on whom scholars agreed on his virtue.

This research, therefore, highlights the interpretation of the Qur'an in connection with the words of the followers in the interpretation of al Tabari through Surah al-Baqarah, in order to highlight the value of this origin, the statement of the sources adopted by the followers in their interpretation in addi tion to the paths they adopted when interpreting the verses.
