The aim of this study is to shed light on an important manuscript among those that dealt with the literary life in Damascus and Aleppo in the eleventh century AH.

This manuscript con tains poetic texts that are not found in the reliable sources that recorded this period.

Therefore, the researcher deemed it necessary to present and study it in this research, which is entitled «biographies and poems of prominent scholars from the eleventh century : a manuscript by Muhammad Al-Harfoushi (d.

1059 AH).
