Abstract EN

This study aims to introduce a basic material from local building materials, which is lime, which is widely used in the construction process as well as restoration, through the discovery of a lime industry in the ancient period in one of the Algerian coastal cities, which is Ain Tagourait in Wilaya of Tipasa.

the facility consists of three medium sized ovens that are not far from each other, and they are old traditional ovens specially prepared for the production of lime material, all of which take circular shapes.

they are simple ovens dug in the ground and open from the top to facilitate their feeding and the burning of the material.

the study also aims at a sensitization process for one of the very important building elements in supplying buildings and monuments with lime that are no less important than other materials such as stones, sand and others, through which we seek to direct attention to preserving them and avoiding their damage and extinction.
