This study came to deal with one of the topics that have been posing controversy among those involved in human thought in general and philosophical thought in particular; it is the subject of the relationship between philosophical thought through its stages from its first sources to the later ages, and the core of the study is the question of the relationship between philosophical thought and mythical thought, and an attempt to trace the intellectual origins of philosophy since its early beginnings at the hands of the masters (pioneers) of philosophical thought.

this article came to explain first the concept of myth and the characteristics that distinguish it from other related topics, leading to the intersection between it and philosophy in some of its aspects, and to the difference between them in other aspects.

the study included examples of myths in ancient civilizations and an attempt to find their philosophical ideas about human questions about the universe, life and beliefs.

the study concluded with a statement of what was agreed upon and disagreed with in the nature of philosophical thought and mythological thought, and from it the emphasis on the existence of common links between the types of thinking despite the fundamental difference in terms of method and purpose.
