ارتبط تاريخ العرب الحديث بالدولة العثمانية بشكل بارز لمدة تفوق أربعة قرون، لكن الوجود العثماني في البلاد العربية عرف عدة هزات بغية الانفصال عن السيادة العثمانية باءت كلها بالإخفاق، لكن الحرب العالمية الأولى أوجدت الظروف الملائمة لانفصال العرب نهائيا عن الدولة العثمانية، فقد سبقت الحركة القومية العربية قيام هذه الحرب، فاستغلت الدول الأوربية هذه الرغبة في الاستقلال ودعموها بكل الطرق، والتي توجت بقيام الثورة العربية الكبرى سنة 1916 م، ضد العثمانيين حيث كانت القطيعة ثم الصدام المسلح بين الطرفين العربي والعثماني، وبنهاية الحرب حقق العرب طموحهم في الاستقلال، غير أنه في الوقت الذي كان العرب يقوم بثورتهم سعيا للاستقلال كانت الدول الأوربية تتفق فيما بينها لتقسيم البلاد العربية عند نهاية الحرب، فكانت اتفاقية سايكس بيكو حول مصير البلاد العربية، تلاها وعد بلفور الذي بموجبه نال اليهود فلسطين، وأخيرا مؤتمر سان ريمو حيث وضعت البلاد العربية رسميا تحت السيطرة الأوربية، وأنهى السيادة العثمانية على البلاد العربية نهائيا.
Abstract EN
Modern Arab history has been associated with the ottoman state prominently for more than four centuries, but the ottoman presence in the Arab countries experienced several tremors in order to separate from the ottoman sovereignty, all of which were unsuccessful, but the first world war created the conditions for the Arabs to permanently separate from the ottoman empire, as the Arab national movement preceded the emergence of this war, so the European countries took advantage of this desire for independence and supported it in every way, which culminated in the great Arab revolution in 1916 AD, against the ottomans, where the boycott and then the armed clash between the Arab and ottoman sides, and by the end of the war the Arabs achieved their ambition independence, however, at a time when the Arabs were revolting in pursuit of independence, the European countries agreed to divide the Arab countries at the end of the war, and the Sykes-picot agreement on the fate of the Arab countries was followed, followed by the Belfour declaration, whereby the Jews won Palestine, and finally the san Remo conference, where the Arab countries were formally placed under European control, and it finally ended ottoman sovereignty over the Arab countries.
