Abstract EN

The study aims to know the impact of the cultural determinants of the host countries on foreign direct investment, in order to assess their suitability for attracting investments.

thus, we used the panel data analysis model through a sample of ten (10) countries for the period 2012-2020 to estimate the relationship between foreign direct investment and some cultural variables (cultural diversity, linguistic harmony, religious freedom, education level).

the study found an inverse relationship between cultural difference, religious freedom and foreign direct investment.

as for the determinant of the difference in dialects and the educational level have no statistical impact on foreign direct investment.

based on these results, both researchers recommend the need to work on creating an appropriate cultural climate to attract foreign investment; it is no less important than the economic factors and determinants of it.
