Abstract EN

This research aims to study the role of information and communication technology in the environment of the digital economy and its impact on economic growth at the level of the Algerian economy for the time period extending from 1990 to 2021, and the standard approach was used based on the ARDL autoregressive model.

the study concluded that there is a positive relationship between ITC and economic growth in the long term, as increasing the number of internet service subscribers per (100) person and the number of mobile phone lines per (100) person contributes to increasing economic growth by (0.220) and (0.007) respectively, as well.

inflation contributes to economic growth.

this is what agreed with the contemporary monetary theory of Friedman within the limits of 5% inflation.

accordingly, the state must increase spending allocations for the ITC sector, which would provide a suitable ground for the growth and development of economic activity, stimulate private investment and attract foreign direct investment, while overcoming entry and investment procedures.

in the ITC sector and encourage partnership between the private and public sectors.
