Abstract EN

This study aims to shed light on the subject of food security and achieving self-sufficiency in Algeria; given that currently, food sovereignty is a strategic goal for countries, due to the volatile conditions in the whole world, which evoke the need to rely on the countries self-capacities, in order to ensure their food security and stability at all levels.

the study concluded many results, the most important of which was that Algeria topped African countries in terms of food security for the year (2021), despite all the challenges it faces.

this requires Algeria to work seriously to maintain this ranking on one hand, and move forward to improve seeking complete self-sufficiency on the other hand.
