because the latter is considered by law as an effect of marriage.

in view of the developments that have taken place within Arab-Muslim societies, the Algerian legislator was encouraged to respond to them in its recent modification of the family code which includes two distinct patrimonial regimes for spouses.

it also introduced amendments to certain rules of conflict of laws in civil law.
