Abstract EN

Through this research, we tried to trace the experience of Arabic language and literature department at the university of Algiers in studying linguistic and literary manuscripts, from the date of its founding during the occupation period until the time when this specialty was closed in it, so we mentioned the most important its scholars, and explained their most important works, and mentioned the greatest achievements that were accomplished in it, especially those related to the opening of specialization, and the opening of the manuscripts laboratory after that, as we listed the most important linguistic and literary manuscripts which have been studied, and which have been translated and published we have reached through this research to highlight some aspects of this experience that succeeded thanks to the efforts of its officials, professors and students, we also mentioned the difficulties experienced by this experience, and we tried to suggest solutions to them.
