Abstract EN

The aim of this study was to investigate the nature of relationship between human capital and export diversification in the Libyan economy during the period 1966-2017.

In order to achieve its objective, the study adopted Philips & Ouliaris (1990) cointegration approach, DOLS method and Toda-Yamamoto non-Granger causality test.

According to the main findings of the study, a long run equilibrium relationship was captured.

In addition, DOLS estimates indicated a negative relationship between human capital and export diversification.

Furthermore, TY causality test showed a unidirectional causal relationship from human capital to export diversification index.
