Abstract EN

This study aims to highlight the reality of Algeria on the topic of good local governance; by searching for mechanisms and requirements to activate them, overcoming legal obstacles, institutional, and political obstacles that prevent it from being achieved.

the results that have been reached are working to develop legislation and introducing amendments to ensure the activation of local governance by establishing clear mechanisms for local participation avoid vague phrases, giving some autonomy in making decisions in elected local councils to ensure decentralization by delegating authority and activating oversight and accountability to reach transparency and the rule of law.
