This research aims to know the methodological way suggested by Mohammed Arkoun for reading the religious text, and hermeneutics is one of these methods, because it is only that interpretation and re-interpretation of the text would open its scope from one to multiple, from the final to the infinite.

perhaps the first steps that must be taken is to criticize those fundamentalist readings that stood in the way of the Islamic mind to become active rather than passive.

thus, it ignored the various historical and social contexts and their role in changing the meaning, while Arkoun believes that the reading he provided of Islamic thought in general and the religious text in particular did not ignore these contexts and circumstances.
