Abstract EN

This article deals with the economic importance of tourism in Algeria in light of the trend towards economic diversification, by reviewing the contribution of this sector to the gross domestic product and employment and its relative contribution to the total exports of Algeria during the period 2016-2019, after the shift of public authorities towards a strategy of economic diversification outside of hydrocarbons.

the research concluded that the sector's contribution to most of the studied economic indicators is weak despite the diverse capabilities that tourism enjoys in Algeria, and this is what reduces its role in achieving economic diversification at the present time.
