This research paper seeks to stand at the economic conditions that Algeria experienced during the period (1852-1870 AD), during which emperor “Napoleon III” was determined to bring about changes affecting the agricultural sector by integrating it with modern agricultural methods and the inclusion of industrial products that achieve financial gains.

the industrial sector worked to exploit and export the natural resources controlled by Algeria to benefit from them, and the commercial sector undermined it with a series of arbitrary laws that ultimately made it serve its interests.

thanks to the intrusion of the capitalist economy by adopting various means and means, the material interests of the European minority and the interests of the metropole were achieved.

on the other hand, this imperialist colonial economic policy sabotaged the traditional economy of the Algerians and made difficult living conditions for them in order to subdue them to its authority and thus achieve its colonial settlement project in Algeria.
