For a lawyer, professional secrecy is one of the legal and moral obligations that fall upon him.

what information and documents are seen by the lawyer by his client or by the investigation authority are of a special nature, whether during the exercise of his profession or on its occasion, as it is considered confidential information that requires the lawyer to comply the obligation not to disclose it, and the Algerian legislator has taken care of the lawyer’s professional secret, whether through the law regulating the legal profession or through the penal code, as he criminalized the act of disclosure and established the criminal liability of the lawyer under article 301 of the penal code.
