Domicile is one of the important issues in private international law because it constitutes one of the basic conditions for granting citizenship, and that needs to be addressed in the possibility or method of acquiring national citizenship, whether it is through the right of blood or the right of the region, as well as dealing with the case of finding a foundling in Iraq, for example, who is considered born in it on although the birth event is just a material fact, it is accepted to prove the opposite, and finally a treatment for the state of the stateless citizen by adopting the idea of a gainful statute of limitations or by the state’s issuance of specialized legislation to avoid the withdrawal or revocation of citizenship from the national so that this does not lead to losing it, as in the Iraqi legislation in force.
