The two parties to the consumption contract are both the consumer and the professional, so the concept of the consumer differs from the concept of the professional, as he is the person who acquires a commodity or service in order to meet personal needs, or for the final consumption of the commodity, but this concept differs from one legal text to another, and from one country’s legislation for another, but the Algerian legislator has defined a narrow and precise concept of the consumer consistent with the purpose of the existence of the consumption law, which is to protect the consumer as a weak party.
