Abstract EN

This study evaluates the status of Palestinian agriculture sector using econometric analysis for the data period 1980-2003.

It defines specific production function, connecting total product to the variables cultivated land, input costs and labor force.

Using generalized Cobb-Doglas production function through OLS procedure it shows effect of technical progress and main factors of production on agricultural product volume.

Estimation results exhibits agriculture production obeys an increasing return to scale, in case of using production factors, land, capital and labor in addition to time factor.

Also, it shows both capital and labor affect production positively and significantly, meanwhile cultivated land affects agriculture production marginally and with a negative sign.

Moreover, it shows the non-responsiveness of agriculture sector to technical progress and a technological biased towards capital factor.
