This study attempts to analyze the continuation of the conflict in western Sahara for nearly half a century, without the international community being able to make any progress towards an explicit and final solution to the issue, because there are regional and international powers that influence their different positions of interest regarding the method of resolving the issue of western Sahara, as at a time when in it, Algeria, the united nations and many other countries see that the conflict is an issue of decolonization and that the Sahrawi people have the right to self-determination.

on the other hand, morocco remains clinging to its alleged historical right to control the territory of western Sahara after Mauritania's withdrawal from the conflict, and it is supported by all of France and the united states of America (circumstantial and temporary and within the framework of pressure on Algeria only), and morocco seeks to achieve its dream of annexing the territory of western Sahara by using all illegal methods until it reached the situation to accept normalization with the enemy of the Islamic and Arab nation, which is a step that would re-move the geopolitical map of the Maghreb as a whole.
