Abstract EN

This research dealt with the study of money, its nature and characteristics, and the study aimed to explain the basic and good functions of money according to Imam Al-Ghazali, and the study dealt with the bad functions of money according to Imam Al-Ghazali and the statement of the legal ruling related to it and its Islamic appraisal.

The study reached a number of results, the most important of which is money according to Imam Al-Ghazali, which is meant for others, not for itself, and he believes that it is not permissible to commodify and trade in money.

In addition, that hoarding and usury are among the main obstacles that disrupt the function of cash as a means of exchange, because this function does not promote the confinement of cash, because money in Al-Ghazali’s thought is not required for itself, so it must remain for its functions.

The research also reached several recommendations, the most important of which is to avoid trading in money because it violates the reason for which money was found, being a medium of exchange and a measure of values.
