Abstract EN

The current study aimed to find out the level of internet addiction among tenth and ninth grade students and to determine its criteria.

Providing students with methods and skills to deal with Internet addiction.

Provide parents with methods and skills to help their children get rid of Internet addiction and use it safely.

To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used the analytical and procedural approach.

The Kaplan Internet Addiction Scale and a questionnaire for parents prepared by the researcher were applied.

The results of the study showed that the students to whom the scale was applied got high scores on the Kaplan scale for Internet use, with a rate of (58.2%), which is an indication of the presence of Internet addiction among the sample.

The results of the questionnaire directed to parents amounted to 56.5%.

This result is an indication of the existence of Internet addiction among ninth and tenth grade students from the parents’ point of view.

The study recommended providing treatment programs for students with low achievement as a result of Internet addiction, and providing them with study skills on how to raise their level of achievement and control their use of the Internet.

Training parents on how to deal with their children's addiction to the Internet and how to use it safely.
