Abstract EN

This research dealt with the epidemic in the literature of 'Umar Ibn Al-Muzaffar, known as Ibn Al-Wardi, and aimed to explain the impact of literature in the past, specifically in the Mamluk era, in people's dealings with epidemics and plague, by describing its symptoms, how it spreads, and its impact on the individual and society.

the research, through the stylistic approach, sought to reveal Ibn Al-Wardi's approach in drawing that suffering through two different literary genres : poetry and prose.

after a brief historical introduction to the epidemic in Arabic poetry, the study dealt with the plague in Ibn Al Wardi's poetry.

Where I explained the styles that emerged in his poetry, and had an impact on describing the epidemic, and dealt with the epidemic in Ibn al-Wardi's prose represented in his treatise "the news about the plague"; i dealt with the prominent methods in it.

In the conclusion of the research, it became clear that Ibn Al-Wardi relied in his literature on the metaphorical rhetorical image, and the divergence between declarative and constructive sentences, and the verbal decoration represented in the arts of rhetorics, the most important of which are assonance, alliteration, puns, and metonymy.
