Abstract EN

The current research aims to determine the levels of goal orientations and cognitive motivation and their relationship among students of Education College in the light of academic specialization, whereas the research sample consisted of (222) female students at Shaqra University, goal orientations scale was applied (Elliot & Charch, 1997) that was translated to Arabic by Zaglool (2006), and cognitive motivation scale (Mahmoud 2004) were conducted.

The results showed that the level of goal orientations of the research sample was high, as well as, cognitive motivation but after questioning they show so high level.

The results showed a correlation between the goal orientations and cognitive motivation and their sub-dimensions at (0.01) significance level and statistically significant differences in goal orientations and all its sub-dimensions were found according to the academic specialization variable at (0.01) significance level.

And there were statistically significant differences in cognitive motivation at the significance level of (0.05) according to the academic specialization variable for the benefit of the students who specialized in early childhood, and the dimensions of goals orientations show the variation of 60% in cognitive motivation.
