Tanning is one of the most famous crafts among the Arabs due to the abundance of leather and vegetable materials that go into the tanning process, as well as the presence of public hands that seek to provide livelihoods.

In the tanning process, many places in the Arabian Peninsula were famous for tanning, and the research was divided into an introduction and four sections dealing with the first topic (tanning materials), while the second topic was entitled (tanning tools) and the third topic came under the title (skin labels), while the fourth topic dealt with the most famous places where the tanning craft spread.
