Museums are among the main institutions in countries concerned with preserving, managing, disseminating; and serving knowledge, heritage, and the memory of the state.

the cooperation and integration of museums with information institutions is vital for their continued successful performance.

these museums and institutions are partners in providing access to information, thereby supporting and enhancing opportunities for lifelong learning, and preserving the cultural and scientific heritage of the communities they serve.

Diamant-Cohen and Sherman as the "wave of the future"; this cooperation has already occurred in many developed countries such as Britain, the United States of America, and Japan; however, it did not happen much in the Arab world.

for this reason, the researchers sought to conduct this study to design a course for students of the library and information science department at Alexandria university.

this course can be adopted in various similar departments in the Arab world, which abounds in many valuable national museums; however, does not have any academic course that qualifies the graduates of these departments to support cooperation between these museums, and the various information institutions in this world.

Alexandria city abounds with many valuable national museums; however, the relationship between these museums and both the professors, and graduates of the LIS department in Alexandria is almost non-existent; Hence, this study was prepared to benefit the department under study, and other similar departments in the Arab world.

the most important results of the study suggest that there is an urgent need for the development of the profession of librarians in the era of big data; whose profession is not limited to traditional services, but extends to the various institutions of society-including museums_especially the museums of Alexandria, which lack distinguished information services, whether for their employees or visitors.

there is also the possibility of teaching the course "museum's libraries" in the library and information science department, Alexandria university; as it was found that the opportunities available for teaching this course are much greater than the challenges that may hinder it.
