The element of identity in Abu Al'Atahiya's poetry is very evident, especially the representation of self (Ego) which represents a key element of the physical and psychological self.

in Abu Al'Atahiya's poetry involved the expression the positive and negative aspects through which one could envisage the human self.

The negative aspects are represented by the poet via the construal of his self as an image to delve into its reflections to become possible to criticize it.

His conscious selection of the semantic choices and contexts reflects his philosophy of life and conscious relation to the other via their shared human characteristic.

The positive aspects of the poet's ego were reflected upon by exposing the ethics and wisdoms that humans should adopt.

The poet focuses on the individual's thoughts, actions, orientations and wealth as the core of his poetry.
